Pitt & Co. was family-owned and operated since its inception, with the current Managing Director being the great-great-grandson of the company’s founder. The main business of the company today continues to be as a wholesaler and distributor of various products; Tobacco, Beverages and Confectionery and food.

The company currently employs 19 persons, with 5 staff members in, Management and Administration, 5 in Warehouse and Facilities, and 9 in Sales. There is a high level of employee loyalty with most of the staff being with the company in excess of ten years.

Pitt & Co. sells and distributes its range of products in two primary ways:

Directly from its warehouse to customers (40% of sales)
Through a fleet of six sales vans that take the product out to the customer’s retail outlet, selling and merchandising the product on site (60% of sales).

Pitt & Co are pioneers in Bermuda of a laptop sales system that enables its sales team to take products out to the retail outlet and invoice the retailer at point of sale. This has created excellent goodwill with customers as a result.

We have a fully air conditioned warehouse with four floors that has a total area of 19,000 square feet of floor space along with 200,000 cubic feet of storage space.

Pitt & Co. is one of the few local wholesalers to be granted a bonded license by Bermuda Customs and subsequently operates a fully bonded warehouse and well situated warehouse, 1/4 of a mile east of the island’s capital, Hamilton.
